New clients are asked to complete an intake process including a health questionairre and a short conversation with the therapist to determine the appropriate treatment(s) and therapeutic goals. The client's progress since their last session and updates on current concerns will be discussed at each return visit. The client is typically clothed for Reiki and CranioSacral Therapy. Massage therapy is traditionally performed with the client unclothed to their personal level of comfort and properly draped at all times. Only the area being worked on is exposed. Your privacy is of utmost importance so the therapist will leave the room while you undress and dress. All treatment is non-sexual. The average full-body massage and bodywork session lasts approximately one hour. A thirty minute session allows for a specific area of the body to be treated. Ninety minute sessions are most appropriate for combining therapies and allowing all areas of tension or concern to be addressed at some level. Many people prefer a sixty or ninety minute session for optimal relaxation. The therapy room is generally quiet and warm with soothing music playing. You should communicate any discomfort to the therapist including feeling too warm, cold, or uncomfortable with the pressure or touch in an area of treatment. Most people close their eyes and relax quietly during the session although some prefer to talk. You are welcome to ask any questions you have. The therapist will communicate anything needed from you - like moving your arm or leg for example. People typically feel very relaxed after a massage. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy and awareness. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water following your session. ![]() | ||||||||
